Moving onto Higher Education is a big step for many, opening many doors and enabling you to reach your ultimate career goals. Southport College offers a wide range of Higher Education courses, meeting the needs of students from the local area, as well as those who travel from further afield or relocate to take advantage of the excellent teaching and facilities on offer to all of our learners.

Southport College works in collaboration with the University of Central Lancashire and Edge Hill University to offer a range of university degree courses, all relating to the workplace and enhancing students’ future career aspirations by developing relevant skills and knowledge.

Southport College is also a member of 2 Lifelong Learning Networks; the Greater Merseyside and West Lancashire Lifelong Learning Network and the Lancashire Lifelong Learning Network (LLLN). This is an initiative designed to support the progression of adults and young people onto appropriate Higher Education programmes, leading to jobs which demand higher level vocational and professional skills. The Higher Education programmes at Southport College are designed to meet regional skills shortages and form an important part of the government’s effort to promote vocation and workplace progression through education.

There has never been a better time to study Higher Education at Southport College. We have recently invested over £8 million of our own resources into improving the learning environment for all of our students with many exciting plans for the future. We are also working in close collaboration with the University of Central Lancashire and Edge Hill University to expand the Higher Education courses we can offer, ensuringthat Southport College is at the forefront of Higher Education provision in the local area.

For some people, Higher Education can seem out of their reach; you may not have studied for many years and may be worried about going back into education. We offer Access to Higher Education Diplomas which are designed just for you and every year we help students progress onto a range of degree courses. Also, by offering part-time, evening study options, we can help you fit your studies in around your existing busy schedule.
