We are opening the doors to all and showcasing our students’ work in what promises to be one of the highlights of the year!
Every year Southport College hosts a festival that showcases the talents of our arts students. This year is no different and the date of the first event is almost upon us.

The festival opens with a production of
Rosemary for Remembrance Performed by Level 2 Diploma in Performing Arts students on 23 and 24 May at 7.30pm
Rosemary for Remembrance is a play set in the present following twenty-four hours in the lives of a Romany family, who still embrace their traditional values and lifestyle in the face of a modern world. This one-hour piece was written by the director specifically for this student group.
Next up on the calendar is the fantastic musical,
Little Shop of Horrors, performed by members of the Level 3 Diploma in Performing Arts group on 30, 31 May & 1 June at 7.30pm
Set in 50’s America, Little Shop of Horrors is a tongue-in-cheek extravaganza of singing and dance that stretches imagination to infinity and beyond. It satirises many things- science fiction, ‘B’ movies, musical comedy itself and even the Faust legend.
Our
Art Exhibition is the next event, taking place on 7 and 8 June. This popular event is the culmination of a year’s hard work by our students. The studio space at the College is converted into a gallery to exhibit their stunning installations. This year exhibitions span the disciplines of art, design and media
Edmond is performed by members of the Level 3 Diploma in Performing Arts group on 7 & 8 June at 7.30pm and is the story of one man’s descent into the hellish world of New York; a narcissistic and voyeuristic personality turns a mild mannered white collar worker into a beast that lurks in the underbelly of society, meeting the underground characters that viscerally tear his life apart.
The festival draws to a close with an exhibition of our adult students’ artwork at
Formby College. The exhibition contains beautiful displays of our students’ work across the disciplines of watercolour painting, floristry, cake decorating, dress making and more. The exhibition is open to the public between 10am and 4pm from 19-22 June at Formby College.
Our theatre productions are ticket only events and seats can be reserved by calling the College on (01704) 392745.
Private exhibition viewings are invite only while public viewings do not require bookings.
We hope to see you soon!
