Return To Learning With No Up Front Fees!
Thinking of studying a level 3 or level 4 course at Southport College? There's a way to fund your studies with no up-front fees and nothing to repay until you're earning £25,000 a year. The even better news is that if you progress from an Access to HE Diploma course to complete a HE course, then your outstanding loan for the Access course is written off.
It's a great opportunity as these loans help you to pay the tuition fees charged by Southport College. Most learners aged 19 and over studying at level 3 or above will qualify for these new loans. There's no credit check and you don't have to pay anything back until your income is over £25,000!
We have an amazing range of courses to choose from including:
- Access to Higher Education courses
- Accountancy (AAT)
- Teaching Assistants
And many more
You can download course guides for Accountancy here
Gas and Electrical here
Access to Higher Education courses here
Our courses are designed to help you achieve industry recognised qualifications and find work and at the same time could even set you up in your own business
To get a loan you must be:
- 19 or older on the first day of your course (there's no upper age limit)
- Living in the UK on the first day of your course, and have lived in the UK, the Channel islands or the Isle of Man for 3 years immediately before this
- Taking an eligible course that is level 3 or 4
Getting a loan doesn't depend on your household income and there's no credit check. Repayments start the April after you complete or withdraw from your course.
You pay back your loan (plus interest) when you finish your course and earn more than £25,000 a year. Your repayments will stop if your income drops below £25,000 a year.
Your annual repayment amount will be 9% of any income you earn over £25,000.
Your monthly repayments would be:
- £15 a month - if you earned £27,000 a year
- £37 a month - if you earned £30,000 a year
You can make voluntary repayments if you want to pay off your loan more quickly.
If the loan is for an Access course and you subsequently go on to complete a higher education course, you don't have to pay the loan back at all.
You can start applying for a loan now. You can find out more information on the Government's website here
Our Student Guidance team can also help you with the process and provide you with the support you need to return to learning. You can call them on 01704 392704 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
