Your application to Southport College
At Southport College we want to make applying for a course as easy as possible. With that in mind we have produced a handy guide which explains exactly what happens when you apply to us.
Step 1 Application
You can now apply online!
Click the ‘Search for a Course’ button above to browse our available courses.
Once you have found a course you are interested in, select the ‘Apply Now’ button on the course page.
The selected course will appear in the tool bar at the top of the web page (Apply Online).
If you are unsure which course you would like to enrol on, you can continue browsing and select multiple courses to apply for.
Once you are happy with your selection, click on the ‘Apply Online’ button on the top tool bar and register as a new user
You will then be able to enter your personal information and submit an application for each of the courses you have selected.
Once we receive your application we will store it securely on our computers and arrange an interview with you at the College, if your course requires it.
Step 2 Interview
If your course requires an interview, you will be invited to one of our interview evenings which take place throughout the year. This is also your chance to ask about finance and learning support at the College. You will receive a letter with the time and date of your interview along with any special instructions. If you are successful at the interview you will receive an offer certificate.
Some of our part-time courses do not require an interview. You can check whether an interview is required when you view the details of your course online. If your course doesn't require an interview you can skip straight to Step 5.
Step 3 Formal Offer
Following your interview, we will send you a formal offer letter which fully explains the entry requirements needed for your course. Return the slip included in the formal offer letter to guarantee your place on the course!
Step 4 Enjoy your summer!
After you have finished your exams take some time to relax and enjoy your summer break, you've earned it! But don't worry, we are here should you have any questions.
Step 5 Enrolment
For full-time courses you will get a letter in the Summer inviting you to enrol in August. You will need to bring your qualification certificates or GCSE results slip on the day. Any other special instructions will be included in the letter.
We hold specific enrolment sessions for part-time courses, or if you enrolled online your course start date and time will be in the confirmation email.
