All nationalities are welcome to our warm and friendly teaching sessions with supportive tutors. Upon completion, students will be confidently speaking basic English, helping in many areas of daily life such as shopping, banking and visiting the Post Office.
From September, students will then have the option to enrol onto increasing levels of speaking, listening, reading and writing courses, building on what they have learned so far.
Barbara Kerr, our Curriculum Leader for ESOL said “Not being able to speak the local language can be isolating and frustrating. We know there are lots of new Southport residents who are keen to get to grips with English as quickly as they can, so we are delighted to be able to offer this extra summer ESOL course to help them. We would encourage anyone who is interested to book their free place as soon as possible as we are expecting these courses to fill up fast.”
Vera Afanasjeva has completed several ESOL courses and plans to do more, stating “I have really enjoyed all the courses and am so proud of my progress! I started on the beginner’s course, progressing onto Entry 1, then 2 and am now studying ESOL Entry Level 3 Speaking and Listening. In Januay I hope to move on to the ESOL Entry Level 3 Reading.”
Starting Tuesday 5 July the beginner’s course runs on Tuesday and Wednesdays, from 9.00am - 1.00pm, until 31 August. To find out more click ESOL Courses below.
