Police assist Forensic Science students investigate a mock crime scene

Students on Southport College’s Forensic & Criminal Investigation course benefitted from the expert knowledge of local PCSO Josh Evans as they undertook their crime scene exam. Josh spent the day assisting with the mock incident which saw first year students investigating the crime scene while second year students demonstrated their effective interview techniques.

   

Curriculum Leader Lynette Smith said We are pleased to be working with Merseyside Police who are helping us in making sure that students see the links between our programme and career options. The day confirmed that the exercises we undertake as part of our courses parallel the world of criminology, law enforcement and forensic investigation. Our students very much valued the input of PCSO Josh Evans who also gave critical positive feedback on the students’ performance.”
