Southport College focus on Apprenticeships and careers with support from Damien Moore MP
As part of National Apprenticeship Week and National Careers Week, Southport College has been focusing on Education, Apprenticeships and Employment with a number of events and activities.
On Wednesday 6 March, over three hundred students and pupils, including Year 10s and Year 11s from eight local schools, attended an Apprenticeship event with informative talks and the opportunity to speak to a wide range of employers about Apprenticeship opportunities, including the NHS, Fletchers Solicitors, Lattimers, Sefton Council, Edge Hill University and the LCR Apprenticeship Hub Ambassdors. Visitors and employers were joined by Damien Moore MP who showed his support for Apprenticeships and National Apprenticeship week.
During the evening Southport College hosted it’s third open evening of the academic year, with staff on hand to give information, advice and guidance on school leaver courses, Apprenticeships and courses for adult learners to the hundreds of visitors who attended the event.
In addition, throughout National Careers Week all Southport College students were able to experience 1-1 careers and progression advice, fill in a career ‘cloud’ about their employment future, obtain information about funding and access resources about all their future career opportunities.
