Those wishing to apply for any of the above level of course, can do so by using the gold 'Apply Now' button at the top of the page. When you complete and submit the application form, our teams will receive and process your application. We will then be in touch to arrange a Course Discussion.
Access to Higher Education Courses
Access to Higher Education courses are delivered mainly in our University Centre, fully preparing you for degree level courses, whilst giving you the full HE experience. Applications for Access courses are made through our Adult Learners Application Form rather than our University Centre application form. Our team will then get in touch as above.
Art Foundation Course
Art Foundation is a Level 4 course where students hone their discipline at Degree level, usually as the next step to studying art at University. Applicants who are under 19 years old can apply via our College 16-18 Application Form and for those 19 years or older can apply via our Adult Learners Application Form. Again, our team will then get in touch as above.
Course Discussion/Interview
Once your application is received, you will be invited to a course discussion to check that you meet the entry criteria and that the course is right for you. This invite will be sent in the form of a letter, detailing the date and time of your interview, alongside any additional instructions or requirements. Interview opportunities also provide a great chance to look around the specialist facilities offered at Southport College University Centre and meet the teaching staff. A tutor will discuss everything about the course with you and advise you on your next steps. This is also your opportunity find out the answers to all of your questions.
Offer
If you meet our criteria and are successful at interview, you will be given an offer of a place on the course.
Enrolment
If you accept your offer of a place to study with us, in August you will receive a letter, inviting you in to enrol on your course. The letter will detail everything you need to bring with you and you must ensure that you bring your qualification certificates with you too. If you plan to use Student Finance or employer payment to fund your course, you will also need to ensure that you have confirmation of an application for funding with you, when you enrol.
