Course Overview
Level 2 Fast Track in Site Carpentry will introduce you to the trade, either preparing you for a new career or is a great opportunity to simply learn new technical skills for yourself.
In just 17 weeks, you will learn about a range of materials, techniques and processes, essential for working in the industry and achieve a nationally recognised qualification. This can then be used to progress to a higher level 3 qualification to gain an even greater depth of skills and knowledge for highly competent work in the industry.

On successful completion of the course students can progress on to a level 3 qualification in this subject or into employment in a related area.
Exam and Assessment
The course work is continually assessed in both practical and theoretical areas. There is also online testing at the end of each unit. • Set up and operate a circular saw • Produce setting out details for bench joinery products • Mark out from setting out details for bench joinery products • Manufacture bench joinery products

Producing basic woodworking joints, and safely using various hand and power tools.
This qualification is aimed at learners aged 19+ who work or want to work in the construction industry and specialise in working with wood. There are four trade areas available: site carpentry, bench joinery, shop-fitting joinery, and wood machining.
The qualification is aimed at people wishing to learn some skills in carpentry and joinery, to progress on to becoming skilled in their chosen trade, or to progress through an apprenticeship and work towards becoming a master craftsman.
Units covered include:
201 | Principles of Construction - Industry context, drawings, site prep.
202 | Structural Carpentry - Floors, roofs, structural elements.
203 | Non-Structural Carpentry (pre-plaster) - First fix tasks.
204 | Non-Structural Carpentry (post-plaster) - Second fix tasks.
205 | Timber Technology & Circular Saw - Wood properties & saw operation.
