I’m Shea and am completing a HND, progressing to a top-up year at Huigh Baird. My photography is experimental, always trying new techniques and approaches to my work. Southport College has helped me grow my skills and allowed me to achieve new developments in my ability, both as a photographer and in my everyday life.
Communication in a New Age
About my project
"This project was conceptual based, meaning I had to articulate a theme. This theme was to provide both an introspective look and a retrospective look at how we have, are and will use our phones for communication - using it as a window into other's worlds, allowing us to communicate with them and showcasing how we place a part of ourselves in services such as Instagram and Twitter.
Notably, this subject is often viewed from a dour, negative lens, homing in on the downsides of social media and smart devices. With my project, I want to focus on that same subject from a more positive lens, focusing on the gained ability to communicate easier and put ourselves out for others to see, increasing visibility."
