We offer a variety of short courses for adults, which are all free of charge.
There are both day time and evening options to choose from and they all take place at our easily accessible town centre campus and are taught by friendly, knowledgeable and supportive teachers.
Take a look at what is currently available in the listings below. Once you have decided which you want to enrol on, just come along to one of our face to face enrolment sessions.
Please note that places do fill up fast and all courses are subject to availability. Different courses may be added throughout the year, so please keep an eye on our social media for the latest updates.
Bricklaying Introduction
Tuesdays 5pm-9pm. 6 Week Course
The beginners course is suitable for complete beginners looking to learn a new skill and those who are considering enrolling onto our full-time course. Based in our newly refurbished Centre of Excellence for Construction and Trades, you'll be kept warm and dry as you are taught the fundamentals of bricklaying, from planning out, mixing and laying bricks to make solid structures.

Carpentry & Joinery
Tuesdays 5pm-9pm. 6 Week Course
Whether you are a complete beginner looking to learn a new skill or considering enrolling onto our full-time course, this is ideal for you. Our newly refurbished Centre of Excellence for Construction and Trades has been kitted out with a fantastic suite of tools and equipment for learners to hone a new craft and step foot on the journey to becoming the next generation of carpenters and joiners.

Crochet Workshops
Tuesdays 6pm-9pm. 6 Week Course
An introduction to the basics of Crochet.
This friendly and supportive class will help you develop skills to move onto your next project.
All ability levels are welcome as the classes cater for all and starter materials are provided for beginners.
Please note that due to high demand, students can enrol onto a maximum of 3 of the crochet courses below in any 1 academic year.

Introduction to Health & Social Care.

Italian
Tuesdays 6pm-9pm. 10 Week Course
The Beginners course is suitable for either complete beginners or those who may have learnt some Italian a while back and want to re-acquaint themselves. It will introduce you to Italian language and culture as well as help you to gain confidence in speaking and listening.
The Progression Course is suitable for those who have either completed the Italian for Beginners or those who may have learnt some Italian language in the past and who are ready to futher develop their confidence in speaking and listening.

Wallpapering Introduction
Tuesdays 5pm-9pm. 6 Week Course
Seen the perfect print for your feature wall and ready to redecorate? Why not DIY?! Our 6 week introduction to wallpapering course will teach you how to get your wallpaper from the roll to the wall, with perfect edges and precision pattern alignment.

How to Enrol
To enrol on any of our free short courses for adults, just come into the college reception any time between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Thursday and our friendly staff will be ready to help. We are also open for enrolment until 6pm on Tuesday 11th November
Please make a note of the course and dates you wish to enrol on and you will need to bring some photo ID with you (for example a drivers licence, passport or over 60’s bus pass) and proof of your address. All our courses are subject to availability and many do fill up fast, so we advise you to enrol as soon as possible.
You can enrol on whichever course or courses you want to (subject to individual course restrictions) but please note that you cannot enrol on behalf of someone else. We look forward to seeing you and if you have any questions before coming in, please call 01704 500606 and we will be happy to help.
