Eloise Yin, Beauty Therapy Level 2
I have always been interested in Beauty so decided to come to college to follow my dreams. The beauty tutors here are so supportive and the facilities are really good too. We work with industry standard products in a full working salon! I’ve really enjoyed the course; especially the practical side of it. The hands on experience in Concept, salon reception and on my work experience have really helped me to build on my confidence and has allowed me to achieve more than I ever thought I could. I am staying at Southport College next year to do the Level 3 course as I’d like to open my own salon in the future and this will help hugely.
Rebecca Aindow, Nail Services Level 2
I completed my Beauty Level 2 qualification at Southport College and wanted to further my skill set to improve my career opportunities so stayed to do the Nail Services course. I have really enjoyed the course; especially working with real clients in a professional environment. This has given me the people skills and customer service skills needed in this industry that you can’t learn in a classroom! The staff at college are fantastic too. They really care about you as a student and do everything to support you. I am progressing to Level 3 Beauty at Southport College next year. I want to work in a salon to gain more experience but would really like to become self-employed in the future.
Lucy Ashton, Beauty Therapy Level 3
Studying Beauty Therapy at Southport College has really helped me to build on up my confidence. I have really enjoyed meeting and working with real clients and gaining lots of salon experience. The staff here have been amazing and have guided and supported me throughout the course and the facilities are really good too. I currently work part time in at The Royal Clifton Hotel and Spa but once I finish my course I will take on a full time position here. I also plan to complete a part time nail services course here at Southport to increase my skill set.
Ashleigh Threlfall, Nail Services Level 2
I choose to come to Southport College as it was recommended to me by others and it is close to home. I really liked the idea of the Nail Services course too as I have always been interested in nail art. I really enjoyed being in a real salon and providing treatments for real clients. I completed the Nail Services course in 2017 then progressed to Beauty Therapy Level 2. Next year I hope to complete my Beauty Therapy Level 3 qualification and would really like to go on to study physiotherapy at University.
