Grace Webb, Construction, Surveying and Architecture Level 3 Extended Diploma I want to be an architect in the future so this course was perfect for me. I think the BTEC is a much better route into this type of career as it focuses on the industry much more and allows you to gain practical skills as well as knowledge. I have particularly enjoyed the opportunities we have had to go out to building sites to gain experience of what it is like out in the industry. I chose Southport College as it was the best college I visited with the great facilities. I travel quite far to get here using my free travel pass, but it is definitely worth it. I am going to the University of Liverpool to study Architecture next year and I feel like my time here at Southport College has prepared me well. I know so much more about the whole construction industry now which will help massively in my future career as an architect.
